Ok, as I read on another post I know I’m a day behind but I really wanted to participate. I think it will be fun to do this until the 3rd season premieres and maybe it will help with the withdrawal I am experiencing.
So… Day 99: Favorite Character
John Reese. Absolutely. I mean, all four main characters are awesome in their own way but I really like this kind of character. Since the beginning of the show John has evolved from a “suicidal/revengeful” person to a “caring/protective/goal oriented” kind of person (although he wouldn’t hesitate to risk his life for strangers and mainly for his friends). He knows he had done many horrible things in the past but he wants to be good after all and helping people in danger may help him reach the redemption he is looking for. I think that all the things that had happened in his past molded his “dark” & strong soul but there’s still kindness and love inside of him; sometimes we are lucky and we get the chance to watch some of that in little special scenes during an episode. This is always welcomed in my opinion, because as good as it is to see him doing lots of badass things around NY its still important to remember that he is human with weaknesses and all. That he particularly cares more about children, war veterans and women says a lot about him too. I love the way in which he interacts with the numbers especially with the ones before the Kara’s incident. I hope that in season 3 we see him more connected with them because that’s the way we get details (hopefully more flashbacks of his CIA mission days) that help us understand his decisions in a better way.
I think that Jim Caviezel was an excellent casting choice from the creators. His voice is just perfect for the character and he portrays him flawlessly.
